What is Shawbrook’s ACA Finance Programme?

Shawbrook's Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) Finance Programme is a well structured rotational pathway designed to enhance your knowledge and skillsets while gaining real-world experiences over a 3-year period. Following completion, you will transition into one of our departments within Finance.

 

The programme aims to expand on our existing finance team for the future, creating aspiring leaders. It offers a unique understanding of working in a Financial Services Business, rotating through all disciplines of our Finance Team whilst gaining a professional accountancy qualification, ACA (ICAEW).

Are you a passionate person about numbers? Are you an analytical person? If you are then our programme would be a perfect match for you.

Along the way, we'll support your studies towards a leading, industry-recognised professional accounting qualification, ACA (ICAEW). In addition, you'll have a network consisting of our existing cohort, a knowledgeable mentor and 70+ Finance colleagues to help you kick start your career and provide you with real-world experience and support. You'll also have the chance to build a vast network of co-workers and contacts throughout the organisation, given that Finance interacts with all our business areas.

 

What we're looking for

  • Graduates with a minimum 2.2, we are open to your degree subject as we are more interested in your passion for numbers and your drive to succeed
  • Non-Graduates with a level 4 qualification or above in accounting, for example, CFAB or AAT, with 12 months or more experience within a finance function
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous thinking and problem-solving
  • Analytical thinker and numerical skill

What you can expect

  • From your first day, you will gain experience and insight into the finance department and the broader business over your 3-year programme
  • You'll earn a competitive salary (£31,650 p/a) with excellent benefits
  • In the 3-year programme, you will be trained in financial control, budgeting & forecasting, mergers & acquisitions and treasury. You will have a manager within your rotations and a mentor who will support you throughout the programme
  • You will be given ample study leave for your accountancy qualification, ACA (ICAEW)
  • Following successful completion of the programme, you will be offered a full-time role within our finance department where you will be able to hone your financial skills enabling you to become a finance leader of the future
