Supporting the UK economy through access to inclusive finance
We’re building an inclusive, engaged and talented workforce
We recognise that acknowledging everyone’s strengths and valuing the differences of others will contribute to a successful and thriving workplace. We're committed to gender balance, and as a signatory of HMT's Women in Finance Charter we have made these pledges:
- To continue to have an Executive Sponsor for Gender Balance who is responsible and accountable for gender diversity and inclusion. Arthur Leung, our Chief Technology Officer assumes this role.
- To have a target of 35% female representation at senior management level by the end of September 2030.
- To annually publish our progress towards these long-term gender balance ranges.
- Our gender balance targets will be included within Executive Committee members' performance agreements at Shawbrook from 2017 onwards, which are used as a key determinant of performance related pay.
We're also signatories to Business in the Community’s Race at Work Charter and member of Progress Together.

Thrive
We’ve launched Thrive, an apprenticeship programme aimed at supporting young people from all backgrounds into a career in financial services.
