We are proud to deepen our investment into elite sport with a renewed commitment to London Mavericks Netball (Lead Partner), alongside our ongoing commitment to Saracens Rugby (Official Banking Partner).

An athlete-first approach to elite performance, a strong focus on investing in the ongoing professionalisation of women’s sport, and long-term investment in local communities all helps to create opportunity, build talent, and inspire the next generation of sports stars and business leaders.

The Shawbrook sponsorship programme extends way beyond the field & court in the shape of our ongoing support of the Saracens Foundation charity, along with the great work that is being done with Saracens High School to facilitate positive social change in the community.

The Empower Her project

With the goal of inspiring the next generation of female leaders through sport, we are proud to support the Saracens Foundation ‘Empower Her’ project.

Funded and staffed by colleagues from across Shawbrook and the Foundation team, the project aims to inspire the next generation of females in leadership within a structured mentoring framework.

We pair inspiring elite athletes from Saracens Women’s Rugby and Saracens Mavericks Netball with young females from community sports clubs across North London, Hertfordshire and Essex, giving them the tools to make positive change within the community sports landscape. The Empower Her project hosts workshops for participants with a variety of high-profile female leaders from sport and business, who share their stories to inspire the future generation of female leaders.

Our close relationship with the Foundation allows us to leverage our combined expertise and resources to extend reach and impact, building skills and capabilities within each cohort.

Saracens High School

We were delighted to announce our support of the Saracens High School “Go Forward” project this year. We will be funding this joint project with the Saracens Foundation from September 2023, and the Shawbrook team is looking forward to putting our collective shoulder behind such an important initiative.

“Go Forward” is a pro-active and impactful secondary school programme which aims to help at-risk children avoid permanent school exclusion by working with them in their school setting. Using a combination of sports-based sessions, breakfast clubs, classroom sessions and mentoring, we will be helping 387 unique participants improve their long-term prospects, mitigating the negative impact of a multitude of factors at school, at home, and in their local communities.

Our support provides a designated, on-site project officer to work on a 1-2-1 basis with at risk children to increase attendance, attitude to learning, and aspirations, giving them goals to achieve and custom-made intervention sessions that will help ensure that their school journey is a positive one.

Powering up the Shawbrook Stats Centre

We’re proud to be focused on data and technology to deliver a frictionless customer experience, consistently and at scale. Data and statistics are also hugely important at Saracens, informing the way the teams play and acting as the bedrock for the creative on-field decisions we see each week.

The Shawbrook ‘Stats Centre’ delivers a host of key stats from each game of the Gallagher Premiership, with the Women’s Premiere 15’s recently incorporated into the platform and Mavericks Netball to hopefully follow later in the year.

Availability of performance stats for the women’s game forms part of our broader commitment to bring female participation sports into sharper focus, and we are privileged to work with Saracens in pursuit of this goal.
