No. The interest rate is fixed, which means we cannot change the interest rate for the duration of your term.

How do I open and manage the account?
You can only open this account online. Minimum account opening balance is £1,000 and maximum account balance is £2,000,000. You can manage the account online or by phone. This account is only available to individuals who are 18 years of age or over, permanent resident in the UK, are only liable for UK tax and can provide a UK bank account as a nominated account.

Can I withdraw my money?
No, you can't withdraw your money until the end of the fixed term when your bond matures. When your bond matures, you can reinvest with us, withdraw your money or transfer it elsewhere. We'll write to you before your maturity date to remind you of your options.

Are my deposits protected?
Eligible deposits are protected up to a total of £85,000 per person by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, the UK's deposit guarantee scheme. Any deposits you hold above the limit are unlikely to be covered. If you have a joint account, you'll be protected for £85,000 each. This means that up to £170,000 could be protected in your joint account.
