The application process
How soon will I get my money?
If your loan application is successful and we receive your signed loan documents, we'll transfer the funds into your account within 3 working days. We usually send you an email when the funds have been transferred to your account.
What information will you ask me for when I apply for a loan?
To apply for a Shawbrook loan you will need to supply the following information:
- Contact details
- 3 years address information
- Employment and income details
- Bank account details
What paperwork will I need to complete?
To apply for a Shawbrook personal loan you will need to complete an online application form.
If you have been accepted for the loan, we will send you a loan agreement to sign electronically.
How quickly can I get a decision?
In most cases you could get a decision immediately after you have submitted your application for a quote. However in some cases we may need further information from you before we can give you a decision.
Is a loan offer guaranteed?
At Shawbrook when you apply for a quote and if you are eligible, we offer a guaranteed personalised rate. Please note, there may be instances where you could be declined after you decide to accept the quote and proceed as a result of the information returned from the hard credit check that we carried out.
What happens after I have a decision?
After you get a decision, and if we can offer you a quote, you will have the choice whether or not to accept it. You have 30 days to decide. Once you accept the decision you will be sent your e-signature pack to review and sign your loan documents.
What is e-signature?
E-signature is a secure way to sign your loan documents online, so you don't have to worry about signing paper documents and posting them back to us.
What is a personal loan cooling off period?
A cooling off period allows you to cancel or withdraw from your loan agreement for a period of time after the loan agreement has been executed.
At Shawbrook, our cooling off period is 14 days after the date you receive a copy of the executed agreement (signed by you, and us). In this time, you’re free to cancel or withdraw without any fee. If you choose to cancel or withdraw you must pay the full funds back within 30 days.
Where do I send my completed agreement form?
With a Shawbrook loan everything’s done online, and there’s no paperwork through the post.
Do I need to go to a branch to get a loan?
Shawbrook don't have branches. You can find out more about our personal loans and how to apply here.
How secure is my loan application
At Shawbrook, we have security protocols in place to ensure your information is safe and secure when applying online.
